About

Additional Support Needs (ASN) Learning Network

The ASN Learning Network grew from conversations between Inspired Community Enterprise Trust (ICET) which runs The Usual Place of Dumfries and Borders Additional Needs Group (BANG) in the Scottish Borders, two organisations that work with autistic people and people with learning disabilities in South of Scotland. It is funded by the South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and facilitated by Inspiring Scotland. The Network was established in October 2021 and has run over 2 years.

The Network has been:

  • helping to share best practice in the South of Scotland region in transition and employability for young people and adults
  • supporting organisations to learn together
  • helping to identify where gaps are in services
  • asking people about their experience of getting jobs, and about opportunities locally
  • a group that other people come to with questions and for advice and to connect people who could fund support and make changes

The network is focusing on employment and it is hoped more accessible opportunities can be created locally.

Conference

As it comes to an end we need your help to secure the legacy of the network. We want to make sure the learning from the Network members is used to support the vision of the regional economic strategy and maximise economic investment into the South of Scotland making it an inclusive region for all.

We’d love you to participate in an online event on the 8th of September 2023 between 10am and 2.30pm.

Members

A directory of members was created, sharing a headline on services offered by their organisation; as well as their asks and offers of support to fellow Network members.
