The Healthy Islands Fund (HIF) was a £1.3 million investment from the Scottish Government to further support improvement of outcomes for island communities in Scotland. Funding contributed to delivery of Strategic Objective 7 of the National Islands Plan, to improve and promote health, social care and wellbeing for those living in Scottish island communities.
The Fund supported 56 community-led initiatives that promoted healthier lifestyles on the islands. The three aims of the Fund were:

The 56 successful Healthy Island Fund Projects across 35 islands supported island communities to engage in healthy lifestyle choices and in turn support their physical and mental wellbeing.
The projects were incredibly diverse: from multi-generational activities, accessible walkways, promotion & participation in outdoor activities, locally grown produce and mental wellness.
